Ilmington Community Shop and Café use the Village Hall on several occasions throughout the year, making use of the easy online booking system.
Each November the Christmas Fair brings together local producers and talented artisan craft stallholders. It's a well-attended event, filling the spacious main hall with dedicated Village Hall volunteers rolling up their sleeves to prepare and serve a sit-down supper in the side lounge for between 30 and 40 guests. This is made all the easier by the hall's ample catering facilities.
In April, the ICS Annual General Meeting regularly attracts an attendance of more than 50 members. Centrally located in the heart of the village, the hall provides a warm and welcoming setting, with everything needed for a relaxed evening gathering — from ample tables and chairs to wine glasses at the ready.
Each year two social gatherings are held to celebrate and thank the volunteers who give so much to the ICS shop and café, one in the heart of winter and one in the summer. These are attended by 70 plus volunteers. The hall offers a warm and comfortable space where they can relax, celebrate and enjoy each other's company with space to dance after a few glasses! The hall is reserved for both occasions, with the summer booking also kept on hand as a practical contingency in case of bad weather.
