Ilmington Village Hall is proud to present the ever popular and widely acclaimed play Old Herbaceous, starring Giles Shenton. Performed at the Edinburgh Festival and to sell out audiences across the country, it is the story of an Edwardian head gardener which will keep you engrossed, amused and emotionally engaged from start to finish and hopefully leave you with a feeling that all is right with the world. It will be performed for one night only on 11th September and tickets are available at £10 from Ilmington Community Shop or here

Limited re-opening from May 17th
From May 17th we will be able to welcome users to our village hall once more, although in a limited way. Then, if the government’s relaxation of lockdown continues as planned, we hope to have the hall fully re-opened on June 21st. Please call 01608 682527 for any booking enquiries.
Village Hall Re-opening Postponed
As fate would have it, on the day that we had completed all the preparations for reopening the village hall, the government announced further restrictions which has made this impossible until after 2nd December. We hope to be able to welcome you all back to a safe environment then.
Preparing for re-opening
The Village Hall is preparing, under strict guidelines, to re-open for keep fit classes and for any other interested groups.
To be ready for this we need a new regular cleaner. If you are interested in approximately 2hrs work a week please contact our treasurer, Paul Bryan, on 07711 121210 or email theflyingmorrisman@hotmail.com.
If you’re considering using the hall please contact our booking secretary, Nina Murchison, on 01608 682527 or via our bookings page
Hall to Remain Closed for Time Being
The Trustees of the Village Hall have reviewed the recent Government guidance in respect of reopening community centres, and, given the limitations in the types of use allowed and the operating precautions that would be needed, it has been decided that the Hall should remain closed until the end of August when the situation will be reviewed once more.
In addition it is proposed to postpone the AGM until January 2021 when the Trustees should be in a better position to assess and report on the impact of the loss of bookings during the pandemic period.
If there are any concerns within the community about these arrangements, villagers are welcome to call Bryan Clifford on 01608 682996.
Village Hall Closed
Due to the current health restrictions imposed by the Government, the use of the hall for public use has been temporarily suspended.
Any bookings made will qualify for a refund of fees paid under the terms of the hiring agreement, single bookings will be refunded by direct payment into a notified account* in order to expedite this process. Unused multiple bookings may be credited and carried over to the next period - or, exceptionally, can be refunded as above.
Hirers should contact the Bookings Clerk (Nina Murchison - 01608 682527) to make arrangements and refunds will be actioned as soon as possible by the treasurer.
Thank you for using our village hall - we hope you will continue to do so after this unfortunate situation is resolved.
* Notified accounts must include: Correct full name of the account / Name of Bank / Account Number / Sort Code
Village Hall Garden Improvements
Over this winter and spring we’ve been working hard to improve the grounds around the hall. The beds are now cleared and ready for planting; there’s some fresh gravel, a new hedge planted at the back of the hall and the bulbs planted in the Autumn are beginning to show.
