Shipston Proms: The Lounge Club in Ilmington

The hugely popular Lounge Club return to Ilmington Village Hall on Friday 21 June to perform a vibrant mix of upbeat swing, Latin and soul as part of the Shipston Proms programme. Playing jazz standards and tunes from the American songbook — performed by Miss Rosie Harris backed by an impressive band of local jazz musicians — the heat then rises with some fiery Latin tunes. So if you like to salsa or samba, bring your dancing shoes — otherwise just sit back and let the rhythms wash over you.

Doors and bar open 7pm for 7.30pm start.

Tickets £10 from Ilmington Community Shop or online at Eventbrite (£1.07 booking fee applies).

Concession tickets at £8 for under-18s available from Ilmington Community Shop only.

Valentine's Disco — a thank you

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Valentine’s Disco on Friday 15 February. There were fantastic retro outfits to match the tunes, and it was great to welcome some first-time visitors to the hall on such as fun occasion.

The evening not only provided a lot of giggles but raised more than £350 for village hall funds. There have been dances held at Ilmington Village Hall since the 1930s and it’s great that we can keep it going for present and future generations to enjoy.

First World War Memorabilia?

On Saturday, 10 November 2018, the Village Hall is hosting an “Ilmington Remembers” event, when World War 1-inspired art and poetry created by the children of Ilmington primary school will be on display. We are also featuring a memorabilia exhibition area, and warmly invite anyone who has family photos, letters, medals or other special items to bring them along to share with everyone.

Tea and cakes will be available (donations requested). Admission free.
