Silent movie night
On 16 December, arts platform Hand Of will arrive in Ilmington with the astonishing Zeiss’ Travelling Cinematograph in tow.
The Zeiss Travelling Cinematograph is a 1920s style travelling cinema and pictoral concert party for all the family, bringing the amazing marvel of moving pictures to Ilmington Village Hall.
The Zeiss Travelling Cinematograph will present one of the finest Christmas motion pictures of all time, brought to life by the inimitable piano virtuoso Isobel Williams, who will be providing a live and improvised score - it has to be seen to be believed!
This is cinema like you’ve never seen before – cinema as it was a hundred years ago. The mechanical whirrs of the projectors, the flickering bulbs, the jeopardy of an improvised live soundtrack. This is the magic that made the world fall in love with film.
Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions). Doors at 7pm; Concert at 8pm; Carriages at 10pm.
